ACCESS CONTROL
Whether the need is for a basic wall-mounted proximity card reader or a sophisticated combination PIN, card swipe and smartcard readers, ADS has the most comprehensive range of access control and smartcard products along with the largest number of identification systems within a coherent setup.
The product line allows companies to choose almost any common
form of existing ID technology for access point recognition. Some
of the options include swipe cards and/or keypads as well as more
sophisticated readers such as proximity cards and state-of-the-art
smartcards readers.
All user access information is gathered by a central PC-based
workstation where the administrators may retrieve and analyse
the information. This data provides a recording of staff movement
within an organisation, whether it is a small company or a company
that employs thousands.
Advanced Detection Systems Access Control facilitates the
management of logons and passwords centrally for all Windows-
based PCs within an organisation. Access Control ensures
higher standards of security by offering identification technologies
that include swipe cards, bar codes, proximity cards as well as
smartcards.
Advanced Detection Systems offer a large range of ID readers
that can work with PC Access Control solution which is capable
of centrally controlling access to your Windows NTTM/2000TM/
XPTM/2003TM operating systems.
The new generation of smart card readers and cards allow
individual memory sectors within the card (normally 16 to be
individually programmed), the basic difference from the smart card
reader to conventional proximity or swipe card is that individual
memory sectors will be encrypted with data and the card can be
set up to read and write information from that card.
This allows the card to be used for several functions, not only
security, vending, photocopier usage and other similar uses. The
card can also be specified to be either contact or contact-less
which is often known as proximity. Advanced Detection Systems
as a matter of course prefer the Mifare system, which is now
quickly gaining accreditation from both the public and private
sector.
